Artist’s Statement

My paintings are primarily about the imagery and atmosphere of the south, especially the coastal lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia. I enjoy painting landscapes, our distinctive architecture, the local wildlife, and nautical subjects… with occasional glimpses from our travels abroad. My personal history here goes back a long time, starting with family vacations along the coast of South Carolina, then several years living on the water in Charleston SC, and finally to Tybee Island, where I’m fortunate enough call home.
